Schutzhaus Tschafon / Rosengarten, 2021
In September 2021, I spent the last 4 weeks of the season at the Tschafon hut, nestled in a meadow among Alpe di Siusi, Sciliar and Catinaccio in the Sciliar-Catinaccio Nature Park. This September not only marked the end of the season, but also the end of the shelter, as it had stood on the Tschafon for several decades. Over the years, the refuge has grown and changed with the people who lived in and with it. At the same time, time seemed to stand still in this place.
After the last guests had said goodbye, the demolition of Tschafon hut began and soon the construction of the new refuge followed.
